Self-publishing talk to happen at Columbus Library

There has been a trend in recent years for authors to self-publish their books.

According to a report by Bowker, which is the official International Standard Book Number (ISBN) agency for the United States, self-published ISBNs topped 1 million for the first time in 2017. In 2021 more than 2.2 million self-published codes were given out.

If you have a half-written novel hidden on your computer (and, really, who doesn’t?) there are plenty of ways to release your work (when it’s finished, of course).

To learn more about self-publishing, an author with more than 30 titles will give a talk about the Columbus Library.

Jerri Lincoln has written children’s books, spiritual fiction, and how-to books on yoga. She currently has five yoga books available, according to her website.

She will give a talk titled, “All About Self-Publishing,” at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 24 at the Columbus Library.

She will cover several topics, including what steps you can take to self-publish, how to not get scammed, how to market your books, and more.
