Landfill fees in Polk County have gone up slightly, beginning on July 1, as part of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget.

Effective July 1, the following fees are effective:

$10 – Minimum Per Trip Fee – Each trip to the Polk County Solid Waste Transfer Station
$90 – Yearly Permit Fee – No limit on trips to the Polk County Solid Waste Transfer Station

(The yearly permit covers household Municipal solid waste, which is basically household-type trash, or garbage up to 300 pounds.)

Construction & Debris is $60 per ton
Municipal Solid Waste $60 per ton
Clean Brush $35 per ton
Clean Fill $20 per ton
Computers and other Household Electronics – $10 per item 

Polk County residents pay a $35 availability fee with each property tax bill that provides no additional charges for the disposal of certain items (this fee has remained the same since starting in 2003).
