Work began in April to clear several waterways in Polk County through a state funding project known as the Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance Program (“StRAP”) and the results are outstanding.
Through this program, the waterway along the Vaughn Creek Greenway Hiking Trail was cleared.
Another project was the removal of severe debris on the Pacolet River, along Pearson Falls Road, after the storms that occurred a few weeks ago.
The county hopes to receive future funding from the state to enable more debris removal from Polk County waterways.
