Polk County Libraries continues its First Friday Film series this week with 2022’s “A Man Called Otto,” starring Tom Hanks.

The film will be show at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 14, at the Columbus Library. This month’s film is being shown on the month’s second Friday, as the library was closed on April 7 in observance of Good Friday.

Fresh popcorn will be provided.

The movie is based on the international best-selling book, 2015’s “A Man Called Ove,” by Fredrik Backman.

Here’s the film synopsis from IMDB: Otto is a grump who’s given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol, leading to a friendship that will turn his world around.
