There are plenty of opportunities to serve others in Polk County.

One way is to volunteer for one of the many boards or councils that the county has established to help others.

Currently, the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is looking for volunteers.

This council has many responsibilities, including (but not limited to) reviewing the needs of juveniles in the county who are at risk of delinquency or who have been adjudicated undisciplined or delinquent and reviewing the resources available to address those needs.

This board meets at noon on the third Friday of each month at Steps to Hope (60 Walker Street in Columbus) and the length of the term is two years.
