Work on Trails at Big Bradley Falls Completed

Work to ensure safety at Big Bradley Falls has been accomplished, in plenty of time for people to enjoy the coming fall foliage near the waterfall.

According to NC Wildlife Resources Commission Chief Engineer Gary Gardner the work was recently completed.

“The trail to the overlook has been significantly improved and the rock knee wall with new steps leading down is complete,” he said. “Our crews have removed the concrete barriers along Holbert Cove Road, as well.”

Work began in February to build a safe stair access to the overlook and to add a platform and knee wall for safety. Improvements to the trail leading to the overlook are also being made.

These improvements were made in order to make the area around the waterfall safer for hikers.
